Not quite as fleshy or sweet in the early going as the Cailloux but boasts an outstanding balance between its dark raspberry fruit and crushed-stone minerality

I’d leave it alone for 5 years to start getting the true magic here

The 2019 DB4 checks in as a Cabernet-dominated blend that includes 10% Petit Verdot and 3% each of Merlot and Cabernet Franc brought up mix of new (70%) and used barrels

The harvest started late with only limited botrytis development

2014 Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignon 5 liter Cinsault Aging: 15 months in barrel97 Suckling Aromas of blackcurrant, mushroom, wet earth and bark follow through to a full body, chewy tannins and a stone, berry, chili and spice aftertaste. Muscular and chunky. Very serious. Almost no new oak. This shows the Mayacamas DNA.
