On March 17, the leadership of the Georgian State University of Sport hosted a meeting where the expansion of academic and cultural ties between Georgia and the Republic of Korea was discussed. The meeting was attended by the Rector, the Head of Administration, and the Head of the Quality Assurance Service from the university. From the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the meeting was attended by Ambassador Hyun Do Kim, Second Secretary Taechan Kim, and the Ambassador’s Assistant.

The main topic of the meeting was the establishment of a solid framework for future cooperation. The parties discussed the development of mobility programs for students and academic staff, the implementation of joint research projects, and the strengthening of bilateral relations through educational activities.

In addition, the discussion included the organization of joint sports activities, which will contribute to deepening communication between the two countries. This meeting represents an important step toward the internationalization of the university and the creation of global opportunities for students.

Sport is one of the most important directions of cultural and social development of the state. It combines physical, intellectual and spiritual values, which are aimed at ensuring human health, well-being and personal harmony.

The development of sport is considered a national priority, as it contributes to the deepening of civic responsibility, the rejuvenation of youth and the strengthening of the country’s international image.
Sport is an integral part of the national development strategy, the goal of which is to form a healthy, educated and civically responsible society. Its successful development requires coordinated and purposeful cooperation between the state, local governments, the private sector and civil society, as sport is part of the common interests of the state, society and each citizen.

As an organized and rule-based physical or intellectual activity, sport includes both individual and team forms and serves to reveal and improve human capabilities. It is not only a means of physical training, but also a social and cultural platform that strengthens civic consciousness, mutual respect and public solidarity.
For Georgia, sport is the voice of our past, which connects us with our roots from the depths of centuries. Traditional sports born on Georgian soil, such as Georgian wrestling, horse riding and archery, have shaped our character – strong, honor-loving and indomitable.

Sport reminds us that victory is not just a result achieved at the finish line, it is a journey of dignity, overcoming oneself and respecting one’s opponent.

Our famous athletes are living symbols of how one person can awaken a sense of national pride in the hearts of millions of people.

On the international stage, sport is the face of Georgia and an ambassador of culture, which without words tells the world: “This is Georgia – a small country, but with a big heart.”
