Vasil Bakashvil

Education

Vasil Bakashvili graduated from the Georgian Institute of Physical Culture; postgraduate studies at the Central Institute of Physical Culture in Moscow.
In 1990, he defended his Candidate’s Dissertation.
In 2002, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor.

Work Experience

Since 1976, he has been working at the State University of Sport of Georgia. He was Chair of the Council of Young Scientists, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy in the field of sports activities, Head of Postgraduate Studies, and Head of the Academic Department.
He began his pedagogical activity at the Departments of Theory and Methodology of Physical Education, initially as a teacher, then as a senior teacher, and later as an associate professor of the department.
Since 2014, he has been the Head of the Academic Process Management Service at the University; Head of the Department of Theory, Methodology, and History of Physical Education and Sport; and Professor at the same department.
At the same time, he is an invited examiner of subject exam papers for physical education and sport teachers at the National Assessment and Examinations Center.
He was Director of the International Olympic Committee’s program “Sports Administrators’ Course.”

Additional Information

He has published several dozen articles in both local and international licensed journals and collected works.
He is a member of the editorial board of dozens of international scientific conferences.
He was a member of the editorial board of two international scientific conferences.
He is a co-author of textbooks and methodological guides, and also a reviewer of one textbook and two supplementary manuals.
