In 1984, Irina Simonyan graduated from the College of Physical Culture with a focus on pedagogy.
In 1988, she graduated from the Georgian State Institute of Physical Culture, Faculty of Pedagogical and Therapeutic Physical Education.
From 1989 to 1997, she worked as a senior laboratory assistant at the Department of Sports Games of the Georgian State Institute of Physical Culture.
From 2000 to 2003, she was a visiting lecturer in movement games at the Department of Sports Games at the Georgian State Academy of Physical Education and Sport.
From 2003 to 2006, she served as a senior lecturer in the same department.
From 2008 to 2009, she worked as a physical education teacher at Tbilisi Public School No. 77 named after Grigol Kobakhidze.
From 2008 to 2013, she was a visiting lecturer in movement games at Ilia State University.
Since 2009, she has been the senior physical education teacher at Tbilisi Public School No. 51 named after Galaktion Tabidze.
From 2010 to 2011, she worked as a visiting lecturer in the field of sport at Tbilisi David Agmashenebeli University (TDASU).
From 2014 to 2018, she worked at the Georgian State Vocational College of Physical Education and Sport.
Since 2013, she has been an assistant professor at the Department of Sports Games of the Georgian State Teaching University of Physical Education and Sport.
Multiple-time champion of Georgia.
5th place at the USSR Youth Games.
Candidate for Master of Sport.
National category volleyball referee (since 2011).
International Volleyball Coach – Level I Certificate (2011).
International Volleyball Coach – Level II Certificate (2014).
Merited Worker of Sport of Georgia (2013).
Author of one textbook (Volleyball: A Guide for Teachers, 2014) and several articles.
