In 1983, Alexander Egoyan graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at Rostov State University, majoring in Mathematics.
In 1987, he was sent by the “Analysis-Instrument” Scientific Research Association in Tbilisi to the General Physics Institute in Moscow, where he completed a research internship and studied in a targeted PhD program under the supervision of Nobel Laureate Academician A. Prokhorov from 1987 to 1994.
In 1994, he defended his Candidate of Sciences (equivalent to PhD) dissertation.
From 1999 to 2005, he worked at the Department of Biomechanics at the Georgian Academy of Physical Education and Sport as an engineer, researcher, and lecturer in Mathematics and General Physics.
From 2005 to 2007, he served as an Assistant Professor in Computer Technologies at the same institution.
From 2007 to 2009, he worked at Tbilisi State Medical University, Department of Biophysics, as an Assistant Professor in Computer Technologies and Biophysics.
From 2007 to 2011, he was a Chief IT Specialist at the National Center for Disease Control of Georgia.
From 2014 to 2015, he worked as a Lead Actuary at the insurance company IC GROUP.
From 2012 to 2018, he was a Professor at Geomedi University, teaching Economic Mathematics.
Since 2022, he has been an invited lecturer at Geomedi University, teaching Biomechanics and Biophysics.
Since 2014, he has been serving as an Associate Professor at the Department of Biomechanics and Computer Technologies at the State University of Physical Education and Sport of Georgia.
He has published over 110 works: 15 in the medical field, 77 in sports science (focused on computer technologies, sports metrology, and biomechanics), and 18 in physics.
12 of his articles are indexed in Scopus with impact factors, and 10 are indexed in Web of Science (Thomson Reuters).
He is the author/co-author of 3 books and co-author of 4 textbooks in computer technologies, mathematics, and biophysics.
He has developed numerous computer programs for use in various scientific fields.
He has participated in 37 international and 9 local conferences, mostly as a speaker, and has helped organize 5 international and 5 faculty-level student conferences.
He has supervised 12 students for student conferences and has advised 15 undergraduate theses.
He was the second supervisor of the doctoral dissertation of academic doctor Ilia Khipashvili.
From 2012 to 2016, he participated in two joint Georgian-Italian grant research projects between the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation (SRNSF) and the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), titled Applied Research of Nucleopeptides in Medicine.
From 2021 to 2023, he participated in an SRNSF-funded research project titled Assessment of Environmental Health Risks in the Bolnisi-Dmanisi Region.
