Vision
Strategic Vision of the Georgian State University of Sports (hereinafter referred to as the “University”) for 2026–2031:
- Recognition in the field of sports education – the university will become a recognized educational institution both nationally and internationally, which determines the quality of education, management efficiency, development of scientific research and public engagement.
- Promotion of personal and professional growth – the university will create an environment conducive to the personal and professional growth of students and academic staff, which will contribute to the development of public values and the realization of the principles of lifelong learning.
- Accessibility to quality education – the university will ensure access to high-quality education for Georgian and foreign students, which will be based on innovative teaching methods.
- Contribution to the development of society – the university will make a significant contribution through its daily activities to the development of the social, cultural and economic future of the country and society, to the promotion of the health of the population and the establishment of a healthy lifestyle.
Mission
“Promoting the development of amateur and professional sports in Georgia through the training of specialists with deep competence in the fields of physical education and sports training, sports management, fitness, physical medicine and rehabilitation, for which it, taking into account the requirements of the labor market at both the national and international levels, implements academic educational programs and applied scientific research activities, promotes the harmonious development of students and their rapid adaptation to the labor market.”
The university fully realizes the importance of social responsibility, including its goal to promote the establishment of a healthy lifestyle among the Georgian population and the development of sports.
Values
The University’s activities are based on fundamental values that define its mission and strategic goals:
- Autonomy – the University is an autonomous educational institution that independently makes decisions within the framework of the law for the full implementation of its main activities;
- National identity and universal values - the University is a higher education institution based on national values, which protects Georgian traditions and cultural heritage. At the same time, it respects and shares universal values and international academic standards.
- Academic freedom – the University ensures the freedom of choice and implementation of academic activities of academic and scientific personnel, as well as students. This principle contributes to the development of creative and critical thinking.
- Justice – any decision made at the University of Sports, taking into account the rights and opinions of all interested parties, is based on fair arguments and objective criteria for decision-making.
- Inclusivity – respects the unique abilities and values of each person as an individual, creates an inclusive learning environment for people with different needs, where education is accessible to everyone without discrimination and equally.
- Transparency and openness – the university is accountable to the public. It proactively publishes information about its activities and is open to cooperation with all interested parties.
- Continuous development – the university is focused on constant renewal and progress. It promotes the professional and personal development of each member of the university community.
- Commitment to the principles of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement – the university fully shares and promotes the dissemination and implementation of the principles defined by the Charter of the International Olympic Movement and the Statute of the Georgian National Olympic Committee.
- Innovation – focused on the introduction and internationalization of educational and scientific innovations, modern methods, new approaches, taking into account local and international standards.
- Social responsibility – respects democratic and ethical principles, contributes to the development of civil society and the country, taking into account social responsibility, the needs of society and lifelong learning.
