In 1994, Aleksandre Gobirakhashvili graduated with honors from the Georgian State Academy of Physical Education and Sport (Faculty of Coaching). In 1997, he completed the postgraduate program at the same institution with honors. In 2004, he defended his Candidate of Sciences (equivalent to PhD) dissertation in the field of Theory and Methodology of Physical Education, Sports Training, and Health-Oriented Physical Culture, earning the degree of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences (specializing in athletics).
From 1994 to 2006, he served as a lecturer at the Department of Physical Education and Sport at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. In 2005–2006, he was an Assistant Professor and Head of the Athletics Division at the same university.
In 2005, he was a member of the commission for amending the Law on Sport of Georgia.
From 2006 to 2007, he was an Assistant Professor at the Georgian State Academy of Physical Education and Sport and Vice Speaker of the Representative Council.
In 2007–2009, he served as Deputy Director for Sports at the Sports and Wellness Complex of the Ministry of Defense.
In 2009–2013, he was Head of the Sports Department at the Sports and Wellness Complex of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs.
From 2009 to 2011, he was an invited Associate Professor at Ilia State University, specializing in athletics; in 2012–2013, he was an invited lecturer at the same university.
From 2013 to 2021, he worked as a Lead Specialist in Sports Activities at Arena Sports Complex.
Since 2014, he has been an Associate Professor at the Georgian State Teaching University of Physical Education and Sport.
Since 2018, he has been the Head of the New Vision University Sports Club.
Since 2022, he has been an invited specialist at Gori State University and the Head of the Bachelor’s Program in Sport.
From 2022 to 2024, he was a member of the Sectoral Council for Higher Education in Sport at the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (LEPL).
Since 2024, he has been an Associate Professor at the University of Georgia (SDASU – Davit Aghmashenebeli University of Georgia).
In recent years, he has published around 30 scientific papers in the field of athletics, authored 3 books, and translated 1 textbook.
He was a member of the Georgian Youth National Athletics Team and holds a First-Class Sports Title. He is a referee of national category.
In 2019, he was awarded the title of Merited Worker of Sport.
