In 1976, Givi Gogodze graduated from the Georgian State Institute of Physical Culture, Faculty of Physical Culture and Sport.
In 1997, he graduated from the Tbilisi Higher School of Business and Marketing, Faculty of Law.
In 2002, he earned a law degree from Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani Pedagogical University.
From 1973 to 1980, he worked as a rowing coach at RDSK #1 Sports School (academic rowing).
From 1980 to 1983, he was the senior methodologist in academic rowing at the Zenit Sports Society.
From 1983 to 1985, he served as a methodologist at the Tbilisi Complex Sports School.
From 1985 to 1991, he was Director of the Spartak Sports Society School.
From 1986 to 1994, he was Director of the Shevardeni Sports Base.
From 1994 to 2004, he worked at the State Audit Office of Georgia, first as Chief Legal Advisor, then as Deputy Head of Administration, and later as Legal Counsel.
From 2004 to 2007, he was Director of LLC “Iveria.”
From 2007 to 2014, he was Director of LLC “Iveria Sport.”
Since 2014, he has been serving as an Associate Professor at the Georgian State Teaching University of Physical Education and Sport.
In 1971, he was awarded the title of Master of Sport.
In 1989, he was honored with the title of Meritorious Coach of Georgia.
In 2014, he received the honorary title of Meritorious Worker of Georgia.
In 2018, he was awarded the title of Knight of Sport.
