In 1981, Manuchar Dvali graduated with honors (Red Diploma) from the Georgian State Institute of Physical Culture. In 1986, he enrolled in postgraduate studies, which he completed with honors in 1989. In 1990, he defended his candidate dissertation and was awarded the academic degree of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences (Academic Doctor). In 1992, he was granted the title of Associate Professor.
From 1981 to 1986, Manuchar Dvali worked as a senior instructor at the Tbilisi City Sports Committee. From 1986 to 1989, he was a postgraduate student. In 1990–1991, he worked as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Education at the Institute of Physical Culture. In 1991, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Physical Education Department at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. Since 2014, he has worked at the Georgian State Teaching University of Physical Education and Sport—first as an Assistant Professor, then as a Senior Specialist, and currently as an Associate Professor.
Manuchar Dvali has published over 30 works in the field of sports science, including 4 in leading international journals.
In 1978, he was awarded the title of USSR Master of Sport in fencing.
He is a scientific consultant for the Fencing Federation of Georgia and the Secretary General of the Georgian Association of Sports Psychologists.
Since 2005, he has been a national category referee in fencing.
In 2016, he was awarded the honorary title of Meritorious Worker of Sport of Georgia.
