In 1999, Meri Pataraia graduated from the Pedagogical Faculty of the Georgian State Academy of Physical Education and Sport. Her secondary specialization was in Therapeutic Physical Training and Rehabilitation. She was awarded qualifications as a Physical Education and Sport Teacher, as well as a Specialist in Therapeutic Physical Training and Rehabilitation.
In 2002, she graduated from the Medical Institute “Medikori” named after Ivane Beritashvili, under the Georgian State Academy of Physical Education and Sport, with a specialization in General Medicine and was awarded the qualification of General Practitioner.
In 2008, she defended her dissertation and was awarded a PhD in Medicine.

She has published 17 scientific papers.
She is the author of two teaching manuals.
