Zviad Miqadze

Education

In 1979, Zviadi Mikadze graduated with honors from Sokhumi State University with a specialization in physical education teaching.
In 1987, he was admitted to the postgraduate program at the Central Institute of Sport in Moscow, which he completed in 1990.
In 1991, he defended his dissertation and was awarded the degree of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences (according to regulations at that time).
Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences.

Work Experience

Since 1979, he has worked at Sokhumi State University in the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Education and Sport in various positions: laboratory assistant, senior laboratory assistant, teacher, and senior teacher.
Currently, he works at the Georgian State University of Sport as an associate professor.
He also gives lectures part-time as an invited lecturer at the Faculty of Education at Sokhumi State University.

Additional Information

Since 1992, he actively participated in the Abkhazia war alongside students.
Until 1995, he served in the Senaki brigade, and later as head of the Department of Special Physical Training at the Security Academy.
He is a retired lieutenant colonel and a war veteran.
He was awarded the Medal “For Military Merit”.
He was granted the title of Merited Worker of Sport of Georgia.
